Qettle Signature Modern

Qettle Signature Modern

Looking for the best boiling water tap? One that actually boils your water to 100 degrees, whilst offering cold filtered water and at an affordable price? Then look no further than the Qettle Signature range.

No other single appliance in my kitchen has improved the way we cook or saved us more time than our boiling water tap. When people ask whether it's worth the £835 we paid for it, my answer comes without doubt: yes! It's efficient, convenient and instant, and produces true 100 degree boiing water where many of its competitors only offer "hot" water.

The Qettle range comes with a choice of 2L, 4L or 7L water tanks and add ons that will chill your cold filtered water. After some deliberation I opted for the 4L water tank and don't regret my decision. Rarely do I run out of boiling water, and when I do, I'm pleasantly surprised by how fast the tank refills.

And even better, the Qettle is saving me money as it's more efficient than my old kettle!

The main competitors to the Qettle that actually deliver true 100 degree boiling water are the Qooker or Franke models.  Their offerings are similar in specification with choices of tank size, and optional filtered and chilled water, but they are much more expensive. The Qooker, for example, retails for an astonishing £1,150, almost 30% more than the Qettle. I also think my Qettle is better looking than both the Qooker and Franke alternatives, with the Signature Modern range that I've chosen, being exactly that: modern! But if that doesn't suit your style of kitchen then check out their Original and Classic ranges, all of which come in a choice of colours and option for square or curved spouts.

I discounted models by Grohe, Insinkerator and Perrin & Rowe on the basis that they don't offer true boiling water. Was I being pedantic when I decided that 98 degrees isn't enough? I don't think so! Experience tells me that if you want to make a cup of tea your water needs to be boiling, and that watching water come to a simmer on the hob is like watching paint dry! I want it to boil now, not in 2 minutes time; and that's what my Qettle gives me!

In terms of practicaility, the Qettle tap will fit directly into your existing tap hole, so there is no need to change or damage your existing kitchen work top.  The tank and fittings do take up a sizeable area under your sink, but the Qettle is no larger than its competitors. Unless you are a competent DIYer I would suggest a plumber is needed to fit your new boiling water tap and, of course, you will need access to a standard 3 pin socket to plug it into near your sink, which generally isn't a problem if your dishwasher is nearby.
